Gus O'Line, known also as The Magnificent Gus O'Line, is a former race car that once competed with the likes of the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. One day, while both were at a race and bumper to bumper for first place, Gus felt a problem, and after the race, it was discovered that he had dislocated his semi-axis.
Realizing his chances of continuing the season are slim, Doc helps him by repairing his semi-axis, claiming that he learned a trick when he was younger. Gus, impressed with the results, suggests the profession of a doctor for Doc in the future, but Doc ironically states that it will never happen. Gus' only appearance in the Cars series is in one issue of the Boom! Studios comic series.
