Cortland is a professional race car who raced for the Faux Wheel Drive racing team as a reserve race in the Piston Cup. His status icon depicts him with the number 54, like Johnny Blamer, and later, Tommy Highbanks, and Herb Curbler.

History[]

Cars: The Videogame[]

In Cars: The Videogame, Cortland is one of the race cars that is found in the final group of cars in Piston Cup races, usually placing 19th, trailing behind the other cars and is lapped by the player and the other computer characters that are in the top five.

Physical description[]

Cortland is a 2006 Dodge Charger NASCAR, a model that resembles a Capitol Motors Verve XT, that is painted green, with a tan hood around his mouth, in a color scheme nearly identical to Johnny Blamer, although on the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the game, he has turquoise instead of green. He has black rims, and the number 191 painted on his doors and roof. Early concept artwork of Cortland saw him with the number 4, the same number that Tow Cap racer Rusty Cornfuel used, which would have made him the lowest-numbered Piston Cup racer in Cars: The Videogame, but this was later changed for unknown reasons.

Trivia[]

  • Cortland has the 3rd highest number out of all known Piston Cup racers, only behind Hollister (282) and Leroy Heming (300).
  • Cortland is the only non-playable Piston Cup racer to have official artwork.
  • Along with this, he is numbered 54 on his status icon, which is normally hidden from players, as he won't ever place 4th or higher. He also is numbered 54 in the Xbox 360 intro.
  • Cortland's 4 has exactly the same font as the 4 Clarkson possessed, while the 54 Clarkson has is in the some font Cortland's 54 had, making Cortland & Clarkson and Masterson & Suregrip the only pairs of cars to swap fonts.
  • Cortland is the only car to have three different numbers.
  • Concept art not in the game depicts him with the number 4 instead of 191. This was because his Movie Counterpart, Johnny Blamer, was 54, which is Clarkson's number, who was 4 in the film, which would have made them opposites.
